Collagen Stimulation:
Sculptra, Radiesse & Skin Tight

Another hallmark of the aging process is significant loss of facial bony structure.  This bone loss leads to weakness in the framework and structural support of the face which causes sagging of the overlying soft tissue and skin!  So, what can we do?  Luckily, we have injectable biostimulants that help rebuild the collagen matrix and bone stimulation to help YOUR BODY generate new tissue.  Collagen is the webbing that gives our skin bounce, structure and support against wrinkling.   Bone is the framework for the fat and collagen beneath our skin.  Why not give a reminder to our bodies to rebuild and maintain better tissue through Sculptra or Radiesse as part of a proactive aging regimen.  For more intensive collagen stimulation, INTRAcel Microneedling with Radio Frequency (RF) is a great solution!
What Is It and How Does It Work?
Sculptra is an injectable of absorbable suture material floating in saline.  When injected, your body has to absorb those suture particles and, in the dissolving process, lays down your own new collagen.  Voila!  The product completely dissolves and you are left with your own new, healthy tissue for a more youthful look.

Radiesse is a blend between instant lift and collagen stimulation.  It is a calcium based paste that creates volume instantly but, as it dissolves, stimulates your body's healing response to lay down new collagen.

Sources of heat are also a great stimulator of collagen.  The shallow heat of our Sciton BBL's Skin Tight treatment , rejuevnates top layer tissue (epidermis).  Deeper heat sources like INTRAcel Radiofrequency Microneedling implements tissue reponses at the lower layer tissues (dermis).

What Can I Expect During My Treatment?
  1. Emily will consult with you to understand your areas of concern and answer all of your questions.  Together, you will determine an aesthetic treatment plan so you can get the best bang for your buck.  For injections, see below.  For Microneedling , see (link at left) and for Skin Tight BBL , see (link at left).
  2. You will be given an ice stick to apply for a few minutes and then the injection site(s) are cleaned with an antiseptic.
  3. The process of getting collagen stimulation injections lasts about 30 minutes.  There is lidocaine inside the injectable product which is a numbing agent for pain.   Most patients report that the process is extremely tolerable and you may need a few hours for the numbing to completely wear off.
  4. When done correctly (injection amount and technique), these injections should give you a more youthful look.  Most patients will see the maximum result of their injections after 2 weeks and continue to improve until about 6 weeks for maximum results.

How Long Do The Results Last?

The beauty of these injections is that you are slowly building your own collagen for long lasting results.  We continue to age but the effect of these treatments can last up to 5 years.  You may choose to add product to the base layer to booster the results annually.
Preparing For Your Appointment

Please note that use of aspirin, NSAIDs (Advil, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Aleve), vitamin E, omega 3's/fish oils, chia seeds and drinking red wine can increase chances of bruising, as well as, the length of time bruises may last.  For best results, the aforementioned medications (unless prescribed for existing medical conditions) and red wine should be stopped one week prior to treatment and for 48 hours following treatment.  Water consumption is also important since many of the injectables bind to water in the skin so extra hydration is advised.

Cost varies based on products used and quantities.  As an expert injector with over a decade of experience and regional product trainer, Emily knows all of the products well and precisely how much of each is needed.  She will help you get the best result for your specific needs.  The average number of Sculptra/Radiesse vials is one per decade of life.  For example, if you are 50, you can expect to use 5 vials total for maximum results.

Sculptra: $800/vial (total injected amount is spread over 2-3 sessions, each 4-6 weeks apart)
Radiesse: $800/syringe (total injected amount is spread over 2 sessions, each 6 weeks apart)
INTRAcel Microneedling with Radiofrequency & Cytokine Serum infusion: $800/area and $475 for each additional area.  For example, face and neck = $1275 (1-3 sessions recommended, each 3 months apart).
Sciton Skin Tight BBL: $300-$700 depending on number of areas treated (6 sessions, each 2-3 weeks apart)

We log rewards points at each visit so that you will get money off your bill every time you come in for injections.  Additionally, we have specials that run each month, as well as, referral incentives for each friend you send that comes in to see us.
Side Effects & Risks
As with any injection, there is risk of bruising, redness, swelling, pain at the site of injection, and, in very rare cases, infection. The treatments may involve risks that have been well documented and injections for cosmetic purposes are not recommended for everyone.  If you have any questions or concerns, please give us a call to discuss.

To minimize the chance of the above side effects and risks, follow the instructions to massage the treated area twice per day for 7 days.  You should also avoid laying on your face at night or during a massage for 72 hours.  In addition, vigorous exercise that could cause sweating should be avoided for 24 hours post injection.
